Not what I Expected
I was excited for this book but very disappointed on many levels. For one it has far to much green info and not enough recipes. For all the info in the book you could have googled half the tips already. The recipes are alright I guess but I expected a bit more, and honestly some of these ingredients I had to look up as I have never heard of half of them. A few recipes call for truffle oil, and on most peoples budget today truffle oil isnt exactly high on our to buy list I dont care how long it lasts even if you are using it sparingly. This book is a little to gourmet for me and I would recommend any of Isa Chandra Moskowitz's books for good vegan recipes that are alot more affordable to make. 2010-07-18

Excellent buy!
Love this book. I use the recipes at least once a week and use what it teaches in my everyday living and cooking. It has solid inspiring information I think everyone should be informed about. What we put into our bodies and how we live our lives says a lot about who we are and how we feel about ourselves and others. This book is worth the time! 2010-06-11

Inspiring and Sweet
I'm very impressed with the way Alicia lives her life. I am already eating a plant based diet but her book has inspired me to take one step further towards health by reducing the amount of processed and convenience foods that I rely on. 2010-05-07

A very informative and well written book
I heard about this book on Oprah and planned to get it from the library. When I saw how many holds there were, I decided to buy it from Amazon. I was not disappointed in the least. The author provides very current information to back up her reasons for choosing a plant based diet. She does not try to use "shock value" but rather,to educate with factual data. I appreciate her honesty when discussing some of the challenges of eliminating animal foods from ones diet. She also breaks down the diet into three categories depending on ones level of commitment. The first half of the book discusses the typical North American diet and why it is so unhealthy and unethical. The second half of the book is full of easy to prepare recipes, so there is something for everyone in this book. 2010-04-04

excellent!
I was already vegetarian before reading this book, but this provided me with many Aha! moments and a greater commitment to leaning toward veganism and just really becoming aware of where I buy any animal product and how they were treated in the process. Great recipes and I discovered Daikon vegetable. 2010-03-21
